The borough of Candelaria has a significant number of footpaths and bridleways which form part of the local ethnographic heritage, closely related with the traditional economy which predominated in this territory until only a few decades ago, based mainly on the activities of agriculture and fishing. Candelaria currently has a local network of seven approved footpaths, to which another five will soon be added: Pico de Arguama, Mirador el Picacho, Barranco de Araca, Camino de Joncho and Geba - Los brezos. In this way, fifteen kilometres of footpaths will be recovered thus complementing the existing thirty-one kilometres.
